Beoir Chorca Dhuibhne Into The Dark Beer Celebration

June 23, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Free

Along with being Indie Beer Week the west Kerry Brewery we will proudly be celebrating our 10th year brewing. Founded in 2008 we are the first and original brewery and brewpub in County Kerry.
The beer writer Leslie Williams will join a panel including Phil Tavey the Beer Sommelier and part of the sales team of Grand Cru Beers, along with Reuben Grey, Chair of the consumer organisation Beoir to discuss and critique the traditional style of beers that are reds and porters/stouts.
Liam La Harte of the PorterHouse Group will also attend the evening to give a brief yet informed talk from his personal and very knowledgeable experience. He will focus on the
economic factors involved around micro breweries. This will be presented as an overview.
More attendees also to be confirmed.
The emphasis of the evening will revolve around the place these styles of beer have in our psyche, this is not a competition, rather a platform to discuss and showcase.
Breweries are invited to send beers for consideration and merit.
Food on the evening will be offered as a companion to the beers so that discussion may veer towards pairings/tastings.
